Armenia says open borders, regional connectivity and economic integration are central to its peace strategy, as Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan highlighted the country’s evolving normalisation agenda with Türkiye at the Yerevan Dialogue 2026 forum.
Speaking at the two-day event, Mirzoyan argued that diplomacy alone is not enough to sustain peace, stressing the importance of economic and infrastructure integration.
“When we share trade routes, energy grids, pipelines, digital links, we share risks and rewards… we are creating a reality where, in our region, every actor has a personal stake in the stability of its neighbour.”
He described this approach as the foundation of Armenia’s connectivity vision, including the Crossroads for Peace initiative and the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity project (TRIPP).
Amid these discussions, regional engagement, particularly between Armenia and Azerbaijan also featured at the forum.
Three Azerbaijani experts will also participate at the Yerevan Dialogue 2026. The experts are attending as part of the “Bridge of Peace” initiative, a civil-society effort aimed at fostering dialogue and cooperation across the region.
Mirzoyan said Armenia continues to strengthen ties with regional partners, including Georgia and Iran, while expanding cooperation beyond the region.
He said Yerevan is pursuing a diversified foreign policy based on multiple partnerships rather than reliance on a single power centre.
“(The) United States, France, Kazakhstan, China, a growing number of European partners, are now present in Armenia's strategic partnership portfolio, not as alternatives to one another, but as pillars of a diversified and cooperative foreign policy architecture.”
