U.S. Central Command
U.S. forces have destroyed more than 9,000 military targets inside Iran, since the beginning of the conflict, U.S. Central Command said in a post on X on Tuesday.
The strikes have "significantly" removed the Iranian regime's combat capability, the post added.
The UK and France are working on a proposal to lead a coalition of countries in efforts to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. The plan, which would require U.S. support, would see uncrewed systems hunt and destroy mines in the sea passage.
The Pentagon is set to send thousands of troops from the elite 82nd Airborne Division to the Middle East, two officials told Reuters on Tuesday. Their arrival would add to the huge military build-up in the region, even as U.S. President Trump seeks talks with Iran.
The officials, speaking on the condition of anonymity, did not specify where in the Middle East the troops would be deployed or when they would arrive in the region.
The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has confirmed that an individual killed in an Iranian attack on Bahrain was a Moroccan national working as a civillian contractor for the UAE's armed forces. Five other UAE military personnel were also injured in the attack, as well as a number of troops from Bahrain, the UAE said.
The UAE's Ministry of Foreign Affairs criticised Iran in a statement on social media, branding the incident an "unprovoked terrorist attack" and a "flagrant violation of international law."
Speaking in Ankara, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan reiterated that Türkiye was putting all its efforts into creating peace in the U.S-Israeli conflict with Iran.
"We are determined to keep our country out of the circle of fire. We absolutely do not want the war to turn into a war of attrition among the countries of the region," Erdoğan said, adding that the conflict had hit the Turkish and global economy.

According to Israel's Foreign Ministry, 18 children have been wounded by Iranian missiles since the start of the conflict with Iran.
The 2008 Convention on Cluster Munitions prohibits the use, production, stockpiling and transfer of cluster munitions. Neither Iran nor Israel has signed the treaty.
Wang Yi called on parties in the Middle East conflict to start peace talks as soon as possible in a telephone conversation with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi on Tuesday, according to a statement from the Chinese Foreign Ministry.
"All hotspot issues should be resolved through dialogue and negotiation, not by using force," Wang Yi said.
The town of Sahel Alma, north of the Lebanese capital Beirut was attacked on Tuesday, according to Lebanese state media.

Iran would demand guarantees against future military action, compensation for losses incurred during the conflict and formal control of the Strait of Hormuz if serious negotiations between the Iran and U.S. were to take place, Reuters reports, citing three senior sources in Tehran.
The concessions are likely to be red lines for U.S. President Donald Trump.
Iran's negotiating posture has changed since the beginning of the conflict, with the hardline Revolutionary Guards exerting more influence over decision making, according to the report.
The sources added that Iran would reuse to negotiate any limitations to its ballistic missile programme, an issue that had already been a red line for Tehran during talks that were taking place when the U.S. and Israel launched their attack at the end of February.
Beirut's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has provided additional details about its decision to expel Iranian Ambassador, Mohammad Reza Sheibani.
In a statement posted on X, the Ministry accused Sheibani of meddling in internal affairs by criticising decisions taken by the Lebanese government and by holding meetings with "unofficial Lebanese parties."
The Ministry said that Sheibani had violated the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations through his actions.
The decision "does not constitute a severance of diplomatic relations with Iran at all," the Ministry said, adding that it "always strives to maintain the best relations of friendship with the Islamic Republic of Iran."

Hezbollah will fight any efforts by Israel to occupy south Lebanon, Hassan Fadlallah, a lawmaker from the Lebanese armed group, told Reuters on Tuesday.
Fadallah said any occupation would pose an "existential threat" to Lebanon as a state.

Israel's Minister of Foreign Affairs Gideon Sa'ar has given a positive reaction to Lebanon's expulsion of Iranian Ambassador Mohammad Reza Sheibani. In a statement on X, Sa'ar said he welcomed the move, describing it as a "justified and necessary step against a state responsible for violating Lebanon's sovereignty."
A state of national energy emergency has been declared in the Philippines, in response to the Iran conflict. President Ferdinand Marcos Jr said fighting in the Middle East posed an "imminent danger" to the energy supply in the country of approximately 115 million in southeast Asia.
Marcos Jr added that a committee had been formed to ensure the supply and distribution of fuel, food, medicines, agricultural products and other essential goods.
Iranian Ambassador, Mohammad Reza Sheibani, has been declared persona non grata and ordered to leave Lebanon by Sunday (29 March), Beirut's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a post on X on Tuesday.
Iran's Chargé d'Affaires in Lebanon, Tawfiq Samadi Khoshkhu, was informed of the decision, the Ministry added.
According to the post on X, the Ministry also summoned the Lebanese Ambassador to Iran for discussions, citing Tehran's "violation of diplomatic norms and established protocols."

Iran's Ambassador to the UN in Geneva, Ali Bahreini, has requested a debate at the UN Human Rights Council about a deadly air strike on a primary school on the first day of U.S.-Israeli attacks on Iran.
"A strike on a functioning school during class hours represents a grave assault on children, on education, and on the future of the entire community," Bahreini said in a letter to the Council President dated 23 March.
The attack on the Shajareh Tayyebeh School in Minab, southern Iran on 28 February consisted of two missile strikes in quick succession that killed 168 children, mostly girls, Iranian officials said.
Reuters reported on 5 March that Washington's military investigators believe it is likely that U.S. forces were responsible, but they have not yet reached a final conclusion or completed their investigation. The Pentagon has since elevated the probe.
