Turkmen Orchestra won gold prize at World Orchestra Festival

The Turkmen Youth Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Rasul Klychev, has been awarded the Gold Prize at the 11th World Orchestra Festival in Vienna, Austria.

This year’s invitation to open the festival, held between 23rd and 26th of July, was extended to the Turkmen ensemble as laureates of the 2024 festival, where they made a debut and earned the gold award in the 'Chamber Orchestra' category.

The Opening Ceremony of the World Orchestra Festival took place at the historic City Hall Square that symbolizes Vienna's stature as a hub of classical music and culture, blending the elegance of classical music with the energy of contemporary orchestral talent.

At the 11th festival, the jury highly praised the performance of the Turkmen musicians by awarding special certificates in the categories of 'Best Conductor,' 'Best Performance of a Classical Work,' and 'Outstanding Mastery of Expressive Performance.'

Turkmenistan’s Youth Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Honoured Artist of Turkmenistan Rasul Klychev, performed a composition by Franz Schubert.

Orchestras participated in the competition made their debuts in front of the international jury, consisting of world well-known orchestral conductors and music experts. The Artistic Commitee was headed by Prof. Toby Purser, Head of Conducting at London’s Royal College of Music and Musical Director at the Vienna Opera Festival and Academy.

The World Orchestra Festival 2025 brought together over 400 orchestras from across the globe. The event features concerts, competitions, and masterclasses, culminating in a grand gala concert took place at the famous Golden Hall of the Musikverein.
