South Korean pop sensation BTS, one of the world’s biggest music acts known for their record-breaking albums, global tours and devoted fanbase ARMY, will return to the spotlight in a new documentary, BTS: THE RETURN, premiering globally on Netflix on 27 March.
The film chronicles the septet’s reunion after nearly four years apart, offering a behind-the-scenes look at the making of their fifth studio album, ARIRANG, and the personal pressures of reclaiming the stage.
Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Bao Nguyen, the film chronicles BTS’s journey as they regroup as a full unit and prepare their first major project since members completed mandatory military service.
The trailer reveals the band expressing pressure, vulnerability and questions about whether they can meet expectations after time apart, giving fans a rare window into the personal stakes behind their comeback.
The documentary is expected to delve beyond the spectacle of the live show and chart how the members, RM, Jin, SUGA, j‑hope, Jimin, V and Jung Kook, reconnect creatively and personally, explore the themes of their new music and reflect on the group’s evolution.

The documentary is set to arrive days after the release of BTS’s fifth studio album Arirang on 20 March and an open‑to‑the‑world live performance.
The concert titled BTS: THE COMEBACK LIVE | ARIRANG, will be livestreamed on 21 March from Gwanghwamun Square to viewers around the world.
