During the discussion, President Aliyev congratulated Sinirlioğlu on his recent appointment, highlighting the significance of his leadership in shaping the future direction of the OSCE.
Sinirlioğlu, in turn, expressed his gratitude for the warm congratulations and underscored the South Caucasus region's central role in the OSCE’s priorities. He also conveyed his congratulations on the significant progress made regarding the peace treaty negotiations between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Sinirlioğlu emphasized that the ongoing discussions aimed at normalizing relations between the two countries were key to achieving long-term peace and stability in the region.

In his remarks, President Aliyev underscored the necessity of moving beyond the OSCE Minsk Group, which he said had failed to make meaningful progress in resolving the long-standing Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict.
