President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan and President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan have exchanged official congratulations to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Treaty on Strategic Partnership and Allied Relations between their two nations.
In their messages, the presidents celebrated two decades of deepening political, economic, and cultural cooperation, affirming their shared commitment to further strengthening bilateral ties. The 2005 treaty laid the foundation for a close partnership rooted in mutual respect, regional cooperation, and strategic alignment across the Caspian region and beyond.
The anniversary comes at a time of growing collaboration between Baku and Astana in sectors such as energy, transport, logistics, and digital innovation, with both countries playing key roles in trans-Eurasian connectivity initiatives, including the Middle Corridor and Caspian Sea infrastructure projects.
Officials in both capitals have indicated that new high-level visits and joint economic forums are being planned for later this year to mark the occasion and build on the treaty’s legacy.
