Armenia will begin exporting goods to Azerbaijan in the near future, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has said, as the two countries explore opportunities for bilateral trade.
Pashinyan made the announcement after a government meeting, responding to a question from Armenpress about whether Armenian products could be exported to Azerbaijan.
“There is an agenda regarding bilateral trade in goods with Azerbaijan, and in the near future there will also be exports from Armenia to Azerbaijan,” he said, without specifying the products involved.
The statement follows Pashinyan’s comments in January that Armenia and Azerbaijan had exchanged lists of goods that could potentially be traded.
Azerbaijan has so far mainly exported petrol and diesel fuel to Armenia. AnewZ previously reported on several such fuel shipments, including a recent diesel delivery and the earlier start of historic direct fuel exports between the two countries.
