Ukrainian forces have destroyed a factory in Russia’s Bryansk region, damaging key infrastructure in a village near the Ukrainian border, according to local authorities.
In a statement posted on Telegram, Bryansk Governor Alexander Bogomaz said that workshops and administrative buildings at the facility in the village of Suzemka were destroyed. He reported no casualties.
The Telegram channel Mash, which is known to have links to Russian security services, claimed the facility produced electrical equipment, including transformers, and was struck by a Grad multiple rocket launcher. The channel also shared video footage showing thick plumes of smoke rising from the site, though Reuters was unable to independently verify the images.
The strike is the latest in a series of Ukrainian attacks on Russian industrial infrastructure, which Kyiv accuses of supporting Moscow’s military operations in Ukraine. Since the onset of the full-scale war in February 2022, Ukraine has increasingly targeted logistical and military supply chains deep inside Russian territory.
Russian officials have not commented on the military significance of the factory, and there has been no official response from Ukraine regarding the strike.
