In a metro station in downtown Tehran, pictures of Iranian school children alleged to have been killed by U.S.-Israel attacks are being displayed along the walls.

The Iranian Health Minister, Mohammad-Reza Zafarghandi, accused the United States and Israel of killing at least 210 children and injuring 1,510 others since the start of the U.S.-Israeli joint strikes on Iran which began last month.

Zafarghandi made the comment on Sunday (22 March), whilst also reporting that around 300 health and emergency centres in the country have been damaged since 28 February 2026.

Conflict within the region has continued to escalate after a joint offensive on Iran by U.S. and Israel on 28 February, with Iran retaliating with drone and missile strikes targeting Israel and other Gulf countries, which host U.S. military assets.
