Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov met with his Spanish counterpart, Margarita Robles, to discuss European security and strengthening Ukraine’s defence forces.
"Held a productive meeting with Minister of Defence of the Kingdom of Spain Margarita Robles. We discussed key issues of common security and further strengthening of the Defence Forces of Ukraine. We identified priority areas of cooperation that require special attention. In particular, we focused on deepening industrial cooperation, strengthening air defence systems, supplies of ammunition and armored vehicles," Umerov wrote on Facebook.
Also, following the negotiations, the parties signed an agreement on the training of the Ukrainian military.
Umerov stated that Robles outlined detailed plans for Spain's assistance to his country in 2025, highlighting Spain's strong interest in learning from Ukraine’s experience in modern warfare.
"I am sincerely grateful to Spain for its steadfast support since the first days of the full-scale invasion, particularly for its military aid and training of our defenders," he added.
