Saudi Arabia welcomed the upcoming U.S.-Ukraine meeting in Jeddah next week, aimed at finding solutions to end the Ukraine-Russia war.
The Saudi Foreign Ministry emphasised the kingdom’s commitment to promoting peace, highlighting its role in hosting multiple discussions on the matter over the past three years.
U.S. Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff confirmed the meeting, with reports indicating that the U.S. delegation will include Secretary of State Marco Rubio and National Security Advisor Mike Waltz, while Ukraine will be represented by Andriy Yermak, head of President Zelenskyy’s office.
Last week, a tense meeting between Trump and Zelenskyy at the White House stalled a deal on rare earth minerals tied to U.S. support for Ukraine.
Trump previously held talks with Putin and later facilitated a U.S.-Russia meeting in Riyadh on February 18 to discuss ending the war.
