The third Caspian Economic Forum in Teheran has brought together government officials from states of the Caspian region.
The forum brought together leaders from transport and trade organizations, entrepreneurs, and company representatives from Azerbaijan, Iran, Russia, Turkmenistan, and Kazakhstan.
Its primary goal is to foster economic, trade, scientific, and technological cooperation among the Caspian littoral states. Key topics of discussion include energy, finance, tourism, healthcare, investment in free trade zones, and logistics.
Iran’s Trade Promotion Organization has organized seven specialized panels during the event, covering areas such as trade, industry, and agriculture (Ministry of Industry, Mine, and Trade); economic, customs, banking, and investment cooperation (Ministry of Economic Affairs and Finance); transportation, transit, and engineering services (Iran's Transport and Urban Development Ministry); environmental, health, and tourism cooperation (Department of Environment); energy collaboration, including oil, gas, electricity, and renewables (Ministry of Oil and Ministry of Energy); scientific and technological cooperation (Vice Presidency for Science and Technology); and discussions among the heads of chambers of commerce (Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines, and Agriculture).
Iran’s Deputy Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade and Chairman of the Trade Promotion Organization Mohammad Ali Dehghan Dehnavi said that the Caspian countries had a significant potential for collaboration in areas such as environmental protection, preventing the decline in the Caspian Sea's water level, safeguarding fish stocks, developing oil and gas resources, advancing maritime shipping, and establishing new transport routes.
At the forum’s conclusion, the prime ministers of the five Caspian littoral states will sign a final declaration. This will outline measures to strengthen cooperation and set a framework for ongoing ministerial follow-ups to implement the agreements.
