Uzbekistan’s fast-growing technology sector is taking centre stage at ICTWEEK Uzbekistan 2026 in Tashkent, bringing together startups, investors, technology companies and industry experts from across the country and abroad.
The four-day event is expected to attract more than 25,000 visitors and participants from over 70 countries, including around 2,000 international guests. More than 200 organisations are showcasing their technologies and solutions, while the business programme features over 200 speakers and experts.
The event covers key sectors such as venture investment, IT exports, artificial intelligence, cloud technologies, outsourcing, digital infrastructure and the international expansion of technology companies.
Uzbekistan’s startup ecosystem has grown rapidly in recent years. Venture-backed Uzbek startups are now valued at $4.3 billion, compared with $301 million in 2020, an increase of more than fourteenfold.
Startups raised a record $147 million in venture funding during the first half of 2026, after raising more than $300 million in 2025.
Speaking to AnewZ, Feruzakhon Adilkhodjayeva, head of PR and marketing at IT Park Ventures, said the company’s own startup portfolio had also grown significantly.
“Last year, we had more than 50 technology startups, while this year we have more than 75,” she said.
Adilkhodjayeva added that IT Park Ventures is focusing on artificial intelligence, game development and other technology-driven areas of the startup ecosystem.
The startup boom comes as Uzbekistan’s wider IT sector expands its international reach.
In the first half of 2026, 608 export-oriented companies joined IT Park, up 178 per cent from the same period last year. IT Park residents now export IT services and digital products to 102 countries.
Uzbekistan is also home to two technology companies that have achieved unicorn status: Uzum and TBC Uzbekistan.
Uzbekistan has set ambitious new targets for the development of its technology sector. By 2030, the government aims to support 5,000 startup projects and attract $2 billion in venture investment, while continuing to draw more international technology companies to the country.
Tashkent’s role in that growth is also coming into focus.
Speaking to AnewZ, Tashkent Deputy Mayor Alisher Dusmukhamedov said around 20 technology projects are under development across the city.
The plans include the development of a “Smart Tashkent” approach, using digital platforms to manage and monitor areas including education, construction and utilities.
ICTWEEK also gives Uzbek companies a chance to meet international investors, customers and technology partners, while foreign companies can explore Uzbekistan as a base from which to access the wider Central Asian market.
