NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte visited the Ukrainian city of Odesa alongside President Volodymyr Zelenskiy on Tuesday, reaffirming NATO’s steadfast support for Ukraine amid ongoing conflict with Russia.
In a statement posted on X, Rutte expressed solidarity with the Ukrainian people, who he said had endured tremendous hardship, citing Russian's recent Palm Sunday attack on Sumy as a tragic example of the suffering caused by the war. NATO support is unwavering. We will continue to help Ukraine so it can defend today and deter future aggression, ensuring a just and lasting peace,Rutte wrote.
The visit underscores NATO's continued commitment to Ukraine's defense and sovereignty, as the alliance works to bolster Ukraine's ability to resist Russian aggression and secure long-term peace in the region.
