Cezary Tomczyk has said in an interview on Polish news channel TVN24.
“Russia believes this could be a turning point in terms of how the war is waged, and that Ukraine today also needs maximum support from the Western world to survive the war and to be able to effectively defend itself against air attack,” he said.
At least three people have been killed after Russia struck farm warehouses in Pryluky, north-central Ukraine, local police said in a post on Telegram. Another seven people were injured in the attack, authorities added.

Drone strikes hit several districts in the Russian city of Sochi overnight, triggering fires, Mayor of Sochi Andrey Proshunin, said in a post on Telegram. Five people were injured in the attacks, including a child, he said.
New ballistic missiles are due to enter into service with the Ukrainian military within weeks, newspaper The Kyiv Independent has reported, citing the CEO of Ukrainian defence firm Fire Point.
Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk urgently convened government ministers, as well as military and intelligence officials, after a Russian strike hit a Kyiv-Warsaw train near Poland's border with Ukraine.
Adam Szłapka, Polish Government Spokesperson, said the meeting focused on the country's “security situation,” following the incident.
Russian strikes on Kharkiv in northeast Ukraine injured four people in the past 24 hours, Oleh Syniehubov, the region's Governor has said in a post on Telegram.
He said that Kharkiv was targeted with drones and guided bombs during the attacks.
Russian air defence systems shot down 399 Ukrainian drones over Russia and the Black Sea overnight, Russian state news agency TASS reported, citing Moscow's Defence Ministry.
The European Union has condemned Russian strikes near the Ukraine-Poland border, including an attack on a passenger train reportedly carrying former UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson and other European officials.
EU Commission spokesperson Anouar El Anouni said, “We strongly condemn the latest Russian strikes near the Ukraine-Poland border, including the attack on a passenger train.”
He added that the bloc would continue supporting Ukraine’s defence, pointing to the EU’s recent approval of €6.1 billion or $7 billion in support for Ukrainian air and missile defence.
Former UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson has criticised a Russian drone strike on a Ukrainian locomotive near the Poland border, saying it was an example of the attacks on civilian infrastructure faced by Ukrainians daily.
Johnson was traveling on the same train line before the attack happened on Sunday.

The strike hit a locomotive near Yahodyn station shortly before the diplomatic train was due to arrive, according to Ukrainian Railways.
