The U.S. has dropped a $10 million reward for Taliban figure Sirajuddin Haqqani.
The Afghan government says the United States has withdrawn its $10 million reward offer for information leading to the arrest of senior Taliban leader Sirajuddin Haqqani.
Despite the announcement on Saturday, the FBI still lists the reward on its website, stating that Haqqani is believed to have coordinated and participated in cross-border attacks against U.S. and coalition forces in Afghanistan.
The move follows the Taliban’s release of U.S. citizen George Glezmann, who had been held captive for two years. Glezmann was abducted while traveling as a tourist in Afghanistan in December 2022.
His release marks the third time the Taliban has freed a U.S. detainee since January.
