Russian authorities have deployed additional firefighters to combat a major blaze at an oil depot in the southern Krasnodar region following a drone strike on the facility.
Officials reported that 406 firefighters and 157 pieces of equipment were sent to the depot near the village of Kavkazskaya. The fire, covering an area of 4,250 square meters (45,750 square feet), has been concentrated around petroleum storage tanks and shut-off valves.
Evacuations and disruptions
The regional administration confirmed that 30 employees had been evacuated from the site, and operations at the depot were suspended as a precaution.
Authorities have not disclosed the source of the drone attack, but recent strikes have increasingly targeted Russian energy infrastructure amid ongoing regional tensions.
Firefighting specialists continue efforts to contain and extinguish the flames as investigations into the attack proceed.
