Medals were awarded in eight disciplines on Sunday as the 2026 Milano-Cortina Winter Olympics continued in Italy.

On the ninth day of competition, gold medals were claimed in alpine skiing, biathlon, cross-country skiing, freestyle skiing, skeleton, ski jumping, snowboarding and speed skating.

Italy’s Federica Brignone secured her second gold medal of the Games after winning the women’s giant slalom. Sweden’s Sara Hector took silver, while Norway’s Thea Louise Stjernesund earned bronze.

In the men’s 12.5-kilometre biathlon pursuit, Sweden’s Martin Ponsiluoma won gold. Norway’s Sturla Holm Laegreid claimed silver and France’s Emilien Jacquelin secured bronze.

Italy’s Lisa Vittozzi triumphed in the women’s 10-kilometre biathlon pursuit, taking gold ahead of Norway’s Maren Kirkeeide, who won silver, and Finland’s Suvi Minkkinen, who earned bronze.

Norway captured gold in the men’s 4x7.5-kilometre cross-country skiing relay. Norwegian skier Johannes Hoesflot Klaebo became the first athlete to win nine Winter Olympic gold medals. France finished second, while Italy took bronze.

Canada’s Mikael Kingsbury won gold in the men’s dual moguls freestyle skiing final, defeating his opponent 30–5. Japan’s Ikuma Horishima earned silver and Australia’s Matt Graham took bronze.

Great Britain’s Tabitha Stoecker and Matt Weston won gold in the mixed team skeleton event. Germany secured both remaining podium spots, with Susanne Kreher and Axel Jungk claiming silver, and Jacqueline Pfeifer and Christopher Grotheer taking bronze.

In the women’s 500-metre speed skating event, the Netherlands’ Femke Kok set an Olympic record of 36.49 seconds to win gold. Jutta Leerdam, also of the Netherlands, earned silver, while Japan’s Miho Takagi took bronze.

Great Britain claimed gold in the mixed team snowboard cross competition. Italy secured silver and France earned bronze.

The final medals of the day were awarded in the women’s large hill ski jumping event, where Norway’s Anna Odine Stroem won gold. Fellow Norwegian Eirin Maria Kvandal took silver and Slovenia’s Nika Prevc earned bronze.

Competitions were also held on Sunday in bobsleigh, curling, figure skating and ice hockey.
