Austria’s Janine Flock won the gold medal in the women’s skeleton event at the Milano-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics on Saturday.

The competition took place at the Cortina Sliding Centre on the eighth day of the Games.

Flock secured victory with a combined time of 3 minutes 49.02 seconds, finishing ahead of her rivals to claim her first Olympic medal. Competing in her fourth Olympic Games, the Austrian also became the first woman from her country to win a medal in the women’s skeleton event.

German athletes completed the podium. Susanne Kreher took silver, finishing 0.30 seconds behind Flock, while Jacqueline Pfeifer claimed bronze, trailing the winner by 0.44 seconds.

The Milano-Cortina Games continue across multiple venues in northern Italy.
