President Ilham Aliyev emphasized Azerbaijan’s commitment to women’s rights and the preservation of traditional values at a high-level Turkic States meeting in Baku.
Azerbaijan remains committed to advancing women's rights and expanding their role in society, President Ilham Aliyev said in a letter to participants of the 2nd Meeting of Ministers and Heads of Institutions for Family Affairs and Social Policy of the Organization of Turkic States, held in Baku under the theme “The Role of Women in Modern Society: Sustainable Development and Traditional Values.”
In his message, the President noted that Azerbaijani women are actively involved in public and political life, contributing through their cultural and scientific achievements, and are well represented in state institutions.
President Ilham Aliyev emphasized the significance of shared cultural heritage among Turkic nations, pointing out that the family has always been a key pillar of social structure. He highlighted the historical role of women as guardians of moral values, defenders of the homeland, and contributors to national progress by holding important public roles.
The President also underlined the relevance of the meeting's theme in light of global challenges, emphasizing the need for stronger cooperation among Turkic states in areas of family and social policy. He noted that such collaboration helps protect family institutions and fosters inclusive development rooted in traditional values.
Concluding his message, President Ilham Aliyev expressed confidence that the exchange of ideas at the Baku meeting would help define shared goals and promote meaningful partnerships.
