Armenia’s foreign minister says the presidents of Azerbaijan and Türkiye have been verbally invited to attend the 8th European Political Community summit due in Yerevan next spring.
Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan told journalists that verbal invitations have been extended to President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan of Türkiye to take part in the upcoming European Political Community (EPC) summit in Yerevan, according to Armenian media. He noted that written invitations have not yet been issued.
The 8th EPC summit is scheduled to be held on 4 May 2026, marking the first time the forum will convene in Armenia. Officials in Yerevan have described the event as an opportunity to promote dialogue and strengthen regional engagement under the broader European framework.
Armenia’s foreign ministry has not yet released an official communiqué, and there has been no public statement from Baku or Ankara regarding participation.
The EPC, launched in 2022, brings together leaders from across Europe and neighbouring regions to discuss political, security, and connectivity issues in an informal format.
