The Türkiye-China Media Forum was held in Ankara on 2 July. Organised by the Communications Directorate of the Turkish Presidency, the event marked the fourth in a series of international media forums conducted within the framework of Türkiye’s Communications Model.
At the opening ceremony, Professor Fahrettin Altun, Head of the Communications Directorate, and Jiang Xuebin, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Ankara, emphasised the importance of deepening the strategic partnership between the two countries through enhanced cooperation in media and communications.
The forum brought together leading media representatives, academics, and officials from both Türkiye and China to discuss opportunities for collaboration in the fields of communication and media.
The event featured two main sessions. The first, titled 'Strategic Partnership in the New Global Communication Architecture: Türkiye-China,' focused on bilateral cooperation prospects amid the evolving global communication landscape.

The second session, 'Artificial Intelligence and Innovative Technologies in Strategic Communication,' examined the impact of rapidly advancing communication technologies on strategic communication practices, as well as the role of artificial intelligence, big data, and digital infrastructure in public diplomacy, media production, and information management.
Concrete areas for cooperation in media diplomacy, public communication, cultural exchange, and digitalisation were also identified during the forum.
In his closing remarks, Professor Altun highlighted the forum’s success.
“Our previous forums with media professionals from Africa, Germany, and the Balkans have contributed to building a shared understanding and paved the way for new collaborations. Today’s meeting with media representatives from the People’s Republic of China has been equally fruitful and promising,” he said.
Professor Altun also expressed his gratitude to Ambassador Jiang Xuebin and all those involved in organising the forum.
