The Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) and the Turkish Red Crescent (Kızılay) on Sunday dispatched 11 trucks carrying humanitarian aid.

The convoy was sent to Syria’s Ayn al-Arab (Kobani) to support civilians affected by ongoing clashes, in coordination with the Syrian government and the Aleppo Aid Coordination Centre.

The shipment included five trucks carrying 50 tonnes of flour, one truck loaded with blankets, and five trucks transporting baby diapers and food supplies.

Humanitarian access to the region is frequently disrupted during periods of fighting, leaving civilians in urgent need of food, shelter and medical assistance. Turkish humanitarian agencies have regularly delivered aid to northern Syria as part of broader cross-border relief efforts.

The Turkish non-profit organisation said a humanitarian corridor to Ayn al-Arab was opened following an extension of a ceasefire between the Syrian government and the YPG, allowing aid deliveries to resume.

However, tensions have persisted along the Ayn al-Arab front despite the truce.

The Syrian army entered the town of Sarrin on Tuesday after intense clashes in the area.

On Sunday, Syria’s state news agency SANA reported that a mortar shell fired from areas under YPG control in Ayn al-Arab struck the entrance of Al Jamal village in the Jarabulus countryside.

Separately, the Syrian Civil Defence said a rocket launched by the YPG hit a house in the village of Al Hawi, west of the Euphrates River in Aleppo province.

The incidents came a day after the Syrian government extended a ceasefire with the YPG by 15 days on Saturday.
