China and Ecuador mark a key step in strengthening bilateral ties by agreeing to expand and deepen cooperation in trade, investment and economic development.
Chinese President Xi Jinping and Ecuadorian President Daniel Noboa made the announcement after talks in Beijing on Friday.
Noboa’s visit marks the beginning of a 16-day diplomatic tour of Asia and Europe.
While in China, Noboa also took part in the World Economic Forum’s 16th Annual Meeting of the New Champions, known as the Summer Davos, held in Tianjin.
In a separate meeting, President Xi also welcomed Senegalese Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko, underlining China’s commitment to enhancing ties with African nations.
Both meetings highlight Beijing’s continued outreach to partners across Latin America and Africa.
