Uzbekistan and Belarus are strengthening their trade and industrial cooperation, aiming to boost joint business projects and economic ties.

The Chairman of Uzbekistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Davron Vakhabov, met with Belarusian Ambassador Aleksandr Ogorodnikov to discuss enhancing trade relations and business collaboration. A business visit by Uzbek entrepreneurs to Belarus is planned, focusing on sectors like furniture manufacturing, dairy, and livestock. Both sides also explored joint ventures in Uzbekistan, including furniture and wooden house production using Belarusian technology and materials.

They emphasized local production of baby food and agreed to develop mechanisms to implement these initiatives. Uzbekistan’s trade turnover with Belarus reached $446.7 million in the first eight months of 2024, up 11.1% from the previous year.
