Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin held talks in Moscow, emphasizing their strategic partnership and cooperation amid ongoing global tensions.

Russian President Vladimir Putin hosted Chinese President Xi Jinping at the Kremlin on Thursday for discussions aimed at strengthening bilateral ties. The meeting occurred at a pivotal time in the Ukraine conflict, with both leaders highlighting their nations' strategic partnership.

Xi, the most prominent of over two dozen leaders visiting Moscow this week, is attending celebrations marking the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II. The event comes as the U.S. encourages Moscow and Kyiv to explore a peace resolution.

The two leaders signed agreements to expand their "no limits" strategic partnership, initially established in 2022, shortly before the onset of the Ukraine conflict. China, as Russia's leading trade partner, has played a significant role in mitigating the impact of Western sanctions by increasing purchases of Russian oil and gas.
