China has voiced its readiness to enhance high-level exchanges with France during a strategic dialogue between Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Emmanuel Bonne, the French president’s diplomatic adviser, according to a statement released by the Chinese Foreign Ministry on Thursday.

In their meeting on Wednesday, Wang said Beijing is prepared to deepen strategic mutual trust and advance comprehensive cooperation between the two nations. He expressed hope that France would “provide strong political assurances for bilateral relations,” though the ministry did not elaborate further.

Wang identified civil nuclear energy, aerospace, agriculture and food, artificial intelligence, and new energy as key areas for expanded collaboration.

The two officials also discussed the conflict in Ukraine, the situation in the Middle East, and global governance, agreeing to maintain close coordination and communication.
