The Bulgarian government, headed by Rosen Zhelyazkov, overcame a no-confidence vote initiated over its foreign policy.
On Thursday, the Bulgarian Parliament voted on a no-confidence motion against the government, led by Rosen Zhelyazkov. The motion, initiated by the Vazrazhdane party and supported by lawmakers from Velichie and MECh, aimed to challenge the government's foreign policy direction, according to BTA news agency.
Despite the opposition’s efforts, the motion did not receive the required majority. Of the 240-seat legislature, 54 MPs voted in favor, while 150 opposed it, with no abstentions.
To succeed, the motion needed support from more than half of the parliament. However, with insufficient backing, the government remains in power.
