Hamas announced the release of three hostages on Saturday under a ceasefire deal with Israel.
Palestinian militant groups in Gaza have announced the release of three hostages on Saturday as part of the ceasefire agreement with Israel. Israel has confirmed acceptance of the hostages’ list.
The release follows mediation by Egypt and Qatar to maintain last month’s U.S.-backed truce. Under the agreement, 33 Israeli hostages are to be exchanged for hundreds of Palestinian prisoners, with Israeli forces retreating from some positions in Gaza.
Earlier, tensions escalated when Hamas accused Israel of blocking humanitarian aid into Gaza, threatening to halt further releases. In response, Israel warned of resuming military operations.
