An 80-year-old Israeli hostage, Gadi Moses, has arrived at Tel Aviv’s Sorasky Medical Centre following his release from Hamas captivity
Hospital officials confirmed that Moses, the oldest hostage to be freed so far, is in good and stable condition. “We will continue to follow Gadi's situation and also assure that everything that he and his family needs will be provided here,” said Gil Fire, medical associate to the director general of Ichilov.
Moses was released after more than 480 days in captivity, alongside 29-year-old Arbel Yehud, Israeli soldier Agam Berger, and five Thai nationals. The hostages were transferred to the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) before being brought to Israel. Their release came as part of a prisoner exchange, with Israel agreeing to free 110 Palestinian detainees in return.
The handover was delayed after chaotic scenes erupted at one of the exchange points, where crowds swarmed around the captives. Israeli officials later confirmed that an agreement had been reached, and Palestinian prisoners would be released at 1700 (1500 GMT), a claim corroborated by a Palestinian source citing the Red Cross.
