Renaud-Basso congratulated Azerbaijan on successfully hosting COP29 and confirmed the EBRD’s continued support, particularly in infrastructure and financial sector development. She highlighted the bank’s approval of funding for a water supply and sanitation project in Ganja and its commitment to SMEs and women’s entrepreneurship.
President Aliyev outlined key national projects in water management, urban development, and transport, as well as Azerbaijan’s green energy plans, including regional partnerships for renewable energy exports.
Following the meeting, Azerbaijan’s minister of economy, Mikayil Jabbarov, and EBRD first vice-president Jürgen Rigterink signed a loan agreement for Ganja’s water infrastructure project, reinforcing the strong partnership between Azerbaijan and the EBRD.
