U.S. President Trump, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman meet in Washington

President Donald Trump said Tuesday that he is upgrading ties with Saudi Arabia, designating the Kingdom as a major non-NATO U.S. ally.

"I'm pleased to announce that we're taking our military cooperation to even greater heights by formally designating Saudi Arabia as a major non-NATO ally, which is something that is very important to them," Trump said as he hosted Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for a formal dinner at the White House.

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman said Tuesday that he wants his country to be part of the Abraham Accords.

"We want to be part of the call, but we want also to be sure that we secure a clear path of two-state solution (between Israel and Palestine)," bin Salman, also known as MBS, told reporters at the White House alongside U.S. President Donald Trump.

U.S. House passes resolution to release Epstein files, Senate approves without vote

The U.S. House of Representatives has voted overwhelmingly to require the Justice Department to release all unclassified records related to Jeffrey Epstein, following President Donald Trump’s decision to no longer oppose the measure.

The resolution passed 427-1 on Tuesday. The vote concluded months of internal disagreement among Republican lawmakers over how to handle efforts to disclose the files.

Israeli strike on Sidon kills 13, targets Hamas in Lebanese refugee camp

An Israeli airstrike on the southern Lebanese city of Sidon killed 13 people and wounded several others, according to the Lebanese Health Ministry on Tuesday (18 November).

The Israeli military confirmed the strike targeted militants operating in a training compound at the Ain al-Hilweh Palestinian refugee camp, located near Sidon.

The military stated the compound was used by Hamas to carry out attacks against Israel. However, the attack has been met with strong condemnation from Hamas, which called the Israeli claims "pure fabrication and lies." 

UN recognises Azerbaijan’s professionalism and expands cooperation

The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) has formally recognised Azerbaijan’s strong organisation and effective delivery of COP29, paving the way for deeper cooperation and the involvement of Azerbaijani specialists in future global climate initiatives.

The UNFCCC confirmed its intention to draw on Azerbaijan’s expertise for upcoming international climate events and initiatives.

Kazakhstan strengthens EU ties with Estonian President visit

Estonian President Alar Karis arrived in Kazakhstan on 17 November for a state visit aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation in trade, technology, and transport, signalling a new phase in Kazakhstan’s engagement with the European Union.

His meeting with President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev highlights the growing strategic importance of Kazakhstan as a regional leader in Central Asia and as a gateway to European markets.
