Russia on Tuesday extended its ban on gasoline exports and imposed fresh limits on other petroleum products until 31 December 2025.

The government said the measures are intended to stabilise the domestic fuel market. Under a separate resolution, exports of diesel, marine fuel and other gasoils — including volumes traded on exchanges — will also be restricted. The rules take effect the day after official publication, though they do not apply to shipments made directly by producers.

Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak had previously indicated that restrictions would stay in place through the end of the year.

Russia, a major global supplier of diesel, has repeatedly curbed fuel exports in recent years to cool domestic prices and safeguard supplies during refinery maintenance and periods of strong seasonal demand.
