Azerbaijan has summoned Russia’s envoy in Baku to protest the deadly raids targeting Azerbaijani nationals in Yekaterinburg, demanding a full investigation and accountability.
The Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned Pyotr Volokovykh, the Chargé d’Affaires of the Russian Embassy in Baku, in response to violent raids on Azerbaijani nationals in Yekaterinburg.
The Ministry expressed a strong protest over the June 27 operations by Russian security forces, which led to the killing of two Azerbaijani citizens, injuries to several others, and the detention of nine individuals.
Azerbaijan called for a comprehensive investigation and the prosecution of all responsible parties, underscoring the seriousness of the incident to the Russian side.
