The speakers of Kyrgyzstan and Armenia signed a memorandum of parliamentary cooperation on May 26, strengthening ties between the two countries amid regional peace efforts.
The agreement was formalized during the official visit of Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu to the Armenian capital. Turgunbek uulu met with his counterpart, Alen Simonyan to discuss deeper interstate and inter-parliamentary relations.
According to the Armenian side, the talks also covered expanding economic and cultural collaboration, as well as regional peace and security in the South Caucasus.
Notably, Kyrgyzstan offered to host the signing of a peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan—an offer that underscores Bishkek’s interest in contributing to regional stability.
Both leaders expressed optimism that the new memorandum would provide a stronger framework for joint initiatives and more frequent dialogue between their legislatures.
