Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has briefed Russian President Vladimir Putin on a finalised draft peace agreement with Azerbaijan in a phone call with Vladimir Putin. Kremlin said on that Friday conversation was initiated by the Armenian side.
Pashinyan said that Armenia was ready to sign this important document.
Armenian and Azerbaijani officials said on Thursday that they had agreed the text of a peace agreement to end nearly four decades of conflict between the two neighbouring countries.
Vladimir Putin reaffirmed Russia's support for normalizing Armenia-Azerbaijan relations, stressing its commitment to security, stability, and sustainable development in Transcaucasia. He added that both countries could rely on Russia for any necessary assistance in achieving these goals.
The Prime Minister of Armenia confirmed that he accepted the invitation of the Russian President to take part in the May 9 celebrations in Moscow marking the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
