Between January and September this year, a total of 30.5 million tonnes of oil was transported via the Baku–Tbilisi–Ceyhan (BTC) main export pipeline, according to data released by the Georgian Oil and Gas Corporation.

Official figures show that 2.2 million tonnes of oil were transported through the pipeline in September alone. For comparison, the total volume transported via BTC last year stood at 29.5 million tonnes, marking a slight decline compared to previous years.

The corporation also noted that the Baku–Supsa oil pipeline has remained out of operation this year, as it did the previous year.

The Baku–Tbilisi–Ceyhan pipeline starts from the Sangachal terminal near Baku, passes through six municipalities in Georgia, and ends at the Ceyhan marine terminal on the Turkish coast. The BTC route runs parallel to the South Caucasus Pipeline.
