Elnur Mammadov, Azerbaijan's Deputy Foreign Minister, presented a report during the 3rd meeting of the Azerbaijan-Vietnam Intergovernmental Commission on Economic, Trade, and Scientific and Technical Cooperation, which took place in Hanoi, Vietnam's capital.
During the visit, Deputy Minister Mammadov also held talks with Ms. Le Thi Thu Hang, Vietnam’s Deputy Foreign Minister. The discussion centered on topics stemming from the political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan and Vietnam, held in Baku on 21 April this year.
The talks focused on the potential for enhancing cooperation in various areas, including politics, trade and economy, energy, agriculture, transport, and humanitarian efforts.
Deputy Minister Mammadov noted that the state visit of To Lam, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam, to Azerbaijan on 7-8 May, had significantly elevated bilateral relations to a strategic partnership. He also stressed the importance of strengthening ties between the two countries' parliaments.
The meeting emphasized the importance of the Azerbaijan-Vietnam Intergovernmental Commission in advancing bilateral relations. A protocol outlining the results of the 3rd Commission meeting was signed, and the adoption of an Action Plan for 2025–2027 was praised.
Both parties expressed optimism that the upcoming 3rd Vietnam Days in Baku, scheduled for the end of July, would further enhance cultural exchanges between the two nations.
