US Supports Azerbaijan-Armenia Border Talks

The US State Department has praised recent diplomatic steps between Armenia and Azerbaijan as a promising sign of progress through continuous dialogue.

US State Department Spokesperson Matthew Miller emphasized that both nations’ efforts toward a stable and dignified peace are critical for regional security and prosperity.

"The US commends Armenia and Azerbaijan for formalizing the rules of procedure for border delimitation, demonstrating that progress is possible through sustained dialogue. We support both sides’ work towards a durable, dignified peace for security and prosperity in the region", Miller wrote on X.

This statement follows an October 25th decree by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, who approved a framework for joint activities between the two countries' border commissions.

Armenia’s parliament ratified the framework last week, and the Armenian president has since signed it into law.
