Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi called for peaceful dialogue to resolve the Iranian nuclear issue, condemning recent Israeli attacks and stressing the importance of addressing the Palestinian conflict for lasting Middle East peace.

China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi stated that war is not a solution to the Iranian nuclear dispute and criticized Israel’s recent preemptive strikes on Iran as lacking legitimacy.

Speaking in Paris alongside French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot, Wang emphasized that the nuclear issue could have been resolved through dialogue, but it has instead escalated tensions in the Middle East.

He reiterated China’s consistent position that Iran has committed not to develop nuclear weapons and urged for accelerated negotiations on a new international agreement with strict IAEA supervision. Wang also condemned the U.S. for bombing Iran’s nuclear facilities, calling it a dangerous precedent.

Highlighting the importance of the Palestinian issue, Wang said true resolution in the Middle East depends on addressing Palestinian aspirations and supporting a two-state solution as the only realistic path to peace.
