Russian air defences intercepted four Ukrainian drones targeting Moscow on Saturday, prompting brief flight suspensions at major airports in the capital and other cities.
Russian forces shot down four Ukrainian drones approaching Moscow, according to the city’s mayor, Sergei Sobyanin. Emergency crews responded to the crash sites, though no damage was immediately reported.
The Russian Defence Ministry later stated that 94 drones had been destroyed overnight and another 45 throughout the day.
Outgoing flights at Moscow’s Sheremetyevo airport were temporarily halted due to airspace restrictions and strong winds, Russia’s aviation authority Rosaviatsia said.
