Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan says the country needs a new constitution that reflects its current realities and has a clear purpose.

Speaking at an event marking the 30th anniversary of Armenia’s constitution, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan emphasized the need for a new constitution. He stated that the existing document no longer aligns with the country’s present-day circumstances or the ideology of the 'real Armenia.'

According to Pashinyan, the new constitution should clearly define concepts like homeland and statehood, and must be adopted through the free will of the Armenian people.

Earlier, the president of Armenia’s Constitutional Court, Arman Danielyan, had also acknowledged the necessity of drafting a new constitution, noting that experts are already working in this direction.
