Qatar, Egypt, and the U.S. continue coordinated efforts to negotiate a ceasefire in Gaza amid ongoing conflict and humanitarian concerns.
Qatar’s Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani announced that Qatar, Egypt, and the U.S. are actively working together to secure a ceasefire in Gaza. Speaking at the Qatar Economic Forum in Doha, he emphasized the importance of negotiations as the path to ending the conflict and facilitating the return of hostages.
However, he noted that peace efforts have encountered repeated setbacks, especially following increased military actions after the release of Israeli American captive Edan Alexander. Since October 2023, military operations have caused significant casualties and damage in Gaza. Meanwhile, international bodies including the International Criminal Court have taken legal actions concerning alleged war crimes related to the conflict.
