During an official visit to Beijing, Chairman of the Board of Uzbekistan Railways, Zakhidulla Narzullayev, met with Guo Zhuxue, Chairman of China State Railway Group Co., Ltd, to discuss strengthening cooperation in the railway sector.
The meeting placed strong emphasis on the development of international rail and multimodal transport corridors that support growing freight volumes between the two nations. Both sides acknowledged the steady increase in bilateral cargo turnover and agreed on joint efforts to further expand transit potential through strategic corridor development.
Among the key routes discussed were the China-Kazakhstan-Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan-Iran-Türkiye-Europe corridor and the China-Kazakhstan-Uzbekistan-Afghanistan corridor. The parties also highlighted the importance of advancing multimodal transport routes such as China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan-Iran-Europe and China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-ports of the Indian Ocean.
The two sides reached a consensus on maximizing the use of existing corridors and intensifying cooperation in the development of new routes. The meeting concluded with a mutual commitment to deepening bilateral cooperation in the railway sector and enhancing transport connectivity across the broader region.
