President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan held high-level talks in Astana, reaffirming their commitment to deepening strategic cooperation through a package of new agreements worth $5 billion.
During an official visit by Abu Dhabi’s Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Kazakhstan and the United Arab Emirates strengthened their strategic partnership with the signing of more than 20 commercial agreements totaling $5 billion.
President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev welcomed the Crown Prince, emphasizing the significance of the visit in advancing bilateral relations. He noted that the UAE remains one of Kazakhstan’s key partners, with both countries sharing common goals and priorities. In 2023, the two governments signed a Joint Declaration on implementing strategic investment projects.
The newly signed agreements span a wide range of sectors, including energy, transport, digital infrastructure, and justice. Notable deals include a major renewable energy project between Samruk-Kazyna and Masdar, a supercomputing initiative with Presight, and cooperation agreements on digitalization in the oil and gas sector.
Following the talks, the two sides exchanged signed documents, including:
- Memoranda on transport and justice cooperation;
- Agreements on clean energy and energy storage projects;
- Strategic partnerships in digital transformation;
- Investment plans for the expansion of Nur-Sultan Nazarbayev Airport;
- A protocol on developing Kazakhstan’s trade fleet.
Additionally, the two governments announced the ratification of an agreement on a large-scale wind power project.
