Azerbaijan has acceded to the Rotterdam Convention on the Prior Informed Consent Procedure for Certain Hazardous Chemicals and Pesticides in International Trade.
By the President’s decree, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan has been designated as the national competent authority referred to in Article 4, Paragraph 1 of the Rotterdam Convention.
The Cabinet of Ministers is tasked with implementing the provisions arising from Azerbaijan’s Law No. 262-VIIQ dated 30 September 2025 on accession to the Rotterdam Convention.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs must, in accordance with the first part of the decree, notify the Secretariat of the Convention that the national competent authority under Article 4, Paragraph 1 has been designated.
