Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on Wednesday that the most difficult situation on the front line remains the eastern city of Pokrovsk, where fighting continues to be most intense due to a strong concentration of Russian forces.

“The most difficult area now is the Pokrovsk direction. As in previous weeks, this is the area with the most intensive combat activity,” Zelenskyy said during his nightly video address following a briefing with Ukraine’s top military commanders.

Zelenskyy added that the situation in Kupiansk remains complicated, but Ukrainian forces have gained more control in recent days and continue to defend their positions effectively.

He also highlighted ongoing planning for long-range operations and stressed Ukraine’s strategy to compel Russia to end the war through a combination of global sanctions, long-range military capabilities, post-attack recovery, international coordination, and robust support for the Defence and Security Forces.
