The Russia–Central Asia summit is scheduled to take place in October on the sidelines of the CIS summit in Dushanbe, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov announced.
Referring to the recent meeting of foreign ministers held on April 11 in Almaty, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that discussions focused on plans to strengthen partnerships within the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), and the "Central Asia Five plus Russia" framework.
He noted that one of the key objectives of the foreign ministers' meeting was to prepare for the upcoming Russia–Central Asia summit, scheduled for the autumn.
Lavrov specified that it would be held "in October on the sidelines of the CIS summit in Dushanbe."
The first Russia-Central Asia summit was held in October 2022 in Astana.
