The 13th Meeting of Ministers of Economy and Trade of the Organization of Turkic States was held on October 18, 2024, in Bishkek, chaired by H.E. Daniiar Amangeldiev, Kyrgyzstan's Minister of Economy and Commerce.
Secretary General Omuraliev outlined the OTS Secretariat’s efforts to drive economic integration and expand intra-regional trade. He highlighted the finalized Digital Economy Partnership Agreement, which will support e-commerce and is scheduled for signing at the upcoming OTS Summit.
Omuraliev also discussed plans to establish a Trade Facilitation Committee and implement free trade agreements in services and investment to further boost economic cooperation within the Turkic region.
Looking ahead to COP29, set to take place in Baku, Azerbaijan, the Secretary General emphasized the OTS’s commitment to climate action and regional resilience to environmental impacts.
The session concluded with the signing of a “Communiqué of the 13th Meeting of Ministers of Economy and Trade of the OTS,” outlining the commitment to enhanced economic cooperation and sustainable development across the region.
