The two-day Buddhist event is a celebration of culture and spirituality. The event showcases traditional dances and musical performances and is usually held during the full moon in February.
Organizers say millions of people go to watch the colorful display and around ten thousand tourists visit especially to experience it.
The carnival also fosters unity between communities as Buddhists, Hindus, Muslims, and Christians all gather to display their cultural heritage in the process.
